The Northeastern Mushroom Forest is located northeast of the lifepod, next to the front of the Aurora. This forest is smaller and denser, with cliffs leading down to the Bulb Zone. Both forests are home to valuable resources and dangerous fauna, including Bonesharks and Reaper Leviathans. The Northwestern Mushroom Forest is the larger of the two Mushroom Forests. This forest borders the Dunes, Northern Blood Kelp Zone, Underwater Islands, Grassy Plateaus, and one of the Kelp Forests. It is dominated by a single Giant Tree Mushroom, where most of the valuable resources can be found in abundance. Bonesharks tend to lurk in the denser parts of the biome, and several Reaper Leviathans can be found along the Dunes border. Bonesharks and even some Ampeels can come from the Underwater Islands and the Northern Blood Kelp Zone, respectively.

The Mushroom Forest is northwest of the lifepod. Players can pass through the Kelp Forest and/or Red Grass Plateau to get there.
