What You'll Learn

Brown mushrooms in Minecraft
Brown mushrooms are a type of fungus that grows and spreads in Minecraft. They were added in Update 0.1.0. They are generally found in dark areas, such as overhangs, caves, or even under trees. They can also be found on top of fallen trees, particularly oak, birch, spruce, and jungle trees.
Brown mushrooms emit a barely visible light level of 1. They do not emit light when placed in flower pots, but either type of mushroom can be planted in one. They can be planted and grown on blocks that have a full top surface in light levels below 13, as long as they are not directly underneath the sky. They can be placed anywhere as long as the light level is 7. They can also be bought from wandering traders for an emerald.
Brown mushrooms can be used in various food recipes, such as mushroom stew, fermented spider eye, and rabbit stew. They can also be used as decorative blocks. When bone meal is applied to a brown mushroom, it has a chance to grow into a huge brown mushroom, provided that it is on a proper block (grass block, dirt, coarse dirt, rooted dirt, or moss block) at a light level of 12 or below.
Breaking a huge brown mushroom block can drop up to 2 brown mushrooms. Shearing a brown mooshroom drops 5 brown mushrooms and turns it into a normal cow. Brown mushrooms can also be found in the Nether, where they used to be one of the items spawned inside the Nether Reactor when activated.

Agaricus bisporus
The pileus or cap of the original wild species is pale grey-brown with broad, flat scales on a paler background, fading towards the margins. It is first hemispherical, then flattens out with maturity, typically measuring 5–10 centimetres (2–4 inches) in diameter. When marketed in its mature state, the mushroom is brown with a cap measuring 10–15 cm (4–6 in). The gills are initially pink, then red-brown, and finally dark brown with a whitish edge. The spores are oval to round and measure approximately 4.5–5.5 μm × 5–7.5 μm. A. bisporus is 92% water, 3% carbohydrates, 3% protein, and contains negligible fat.
A. bisporus has some poisonous lookalikes in the wild, such as Entoloma sinuatum, which has a yellowish gill that turns pink, and the lethal Amanita genus, which has pure white gills. A more common and less dangerous mistake is to confuse A. bisporus with A. xanthodermus, an inedible mushroom found worldwide in grassy areas. A. xanthodermus has an odour reminiscent of phenol, and its flesh turns yellow when bruised.
The earliest scientific description of the commercial cultivation of A. bisporus was made by French botanist Joseph Pitton de Tournefort in 1707. French agriculturist Olivier de Serres noted that transplanting mushroom mycelia would lead to the propagation of more mushrooms. Originally, cultivation was unreliable as mushroom growers would watch for good flushes of mushrooms in fields before digging up the mycelium and replanting them in beds of composted manure or inoculating 'bricks' of compressed litter, loam, and manure. In 1893, sterilized, or pure culture, spawn was discovered and produced by the Pasteur Institute in Paris for cultivation on composted horse manure. Modern commercial varieties of the common agaricus mushroom were originally light brown. The white mushroom was discovered in 1925 growing among a bed of brown mushrooms at the Keystone Mushroom Farm in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.

Coat the mushrooms in the marinade for 10 to 30 minutes, then place them on the grill and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side. You can brush them with more marinade as they cook.

Crimini mushrooms
When selecting crimini mushrooms at the grocery store, choose those that are firm with a fresh, smooth appearance. The surface of the mushroom should be dry but not dried out, and appear plump. A closed veil under the mushroom cap indicates a delicate flavour, while an open veil and exposed gills mean a richer flavour.
To clean crimini mushrooms, brush off any debris with fingers or a damp paper towel, or rinse briefly under running water and pat dry with a paper towel. Fresh, unrinsed mushrooms should be stored in their original packaging or in a porous paper bag in the centre of the refrigerator, not the crisper drawer, for prolonged shelf life. Fresh mushrooms should never be frozen, but frozen sautéed mushrooms will keep for up to one month.

Mushroom brown hair
The mushroom hair trend is inspired by the ever-popular portobello mushroom. At first glance, mushroom brown hair may appear to be a standard brown, but upon closer inspection, light grey and brown hues become visible. The shade is a cool-toned, ashy grey-brown that is decidedly more flattering than one might assume.
To get a lighter hue of mushroom brown, ask your stylist to create a light brown base and blend in blonde highlights. For a deeper mushroom shade, ask your stylist to blend chocolate brown lowlights into an ash base.
If you want to maintain your mushroom brown hair, it is recommended to use a colour-depositing, blue toning shampoo and conditioner system, such as the Redken Color Extend Brownlights Shampoo and Conditioner. These products are ideal for preventing and neutralising brass on both highlighted and natural brown hair. Additionally, toners can be used every 4-6 weeks to neutralise any gold tones that may develop.
